2010-02-09: After a relatively silent 2009, 2010 should be a big year for my music. The new solo album, 'Challenging Gravity,' is complete! I just got the notice that the master disc passed quality check, so it should be available pretty soon, approximately March 8. 'Challenging Gravity' follows in the tradition of my solo albums, in that it's acoustic instrument-centered (lots of acoustic guitar and violin riffs), is full of dynamic volume and texture changes, odd time signatures, and weighty lyrical material. It's been 3 years since my last solo album, 'The Great Divide,' and that was a hard act to follow... but I think 'Challenging Gravity' is up to the task to be a fine successor. Next up in 2010 will be the new RESISTOR album, 'Rise,' which is nearing completion. It will be big (as much as a CD can hold), and it will rock! More details will follow on that one in a few weeks.
Then, big news on the 'Air' movie: Our intrepid producers completed a deal for distribution throughout North America, so the DVD should be available in April for purchase at Amazon, Borders, etcetera, and rental through Netflix, Blockbuster, etc. It looks like Amazon's got a link to pre-order the movie already. As if all that weren't enough, there's even a possibility that RESISTOR will release an improvised instrumental album later this year. So... for everybody who wrote me that they're getting impatient for my next release, we're almost there on several!
